Internet Addiction is serious as other forms of addiction which most of them does not know. Now a days Internet becomes very popular and cheaper. So it spread to many people easily than other forms of addiction say Gambling, Alcohol etc. There are different points to be discussed when it comes to what is internet addiction. One view is spending much time online that directly or indirectly affects ones family, social life, marriages, and psychological and Physical wellness. Professional doctors says too much attachment or dependency to the Internet be classified as a one form of disease.

Another views that people who work in front of their computer so much time not to be considered as internet addicts. Internet addiction goes something beyond surfing the net regularly. That means activity or behavior said to addicted when it cross certain limits. Hence using the Internet for day-to-day life of everyone seems to be good, we can't treat that minimum requirement as Internet addiction. Simply activity or behavior, which cannot be controllable, considered as addiction not only for internet but also for other types of addictions.

What Exactly Internet Addiction

When one falls into particular area of the internet they are said to be internet addicted. For example people who tend to work regularly on adult sites, online gambling sites, online auctions and other sites, which actually make them, addict. Some People working on these sites normally restless, sleepless and they don't know what happening around them. In fact, some people are known to spend long hours on these sites that they often forget themselves. In most cases, Internet addicts sit in front of computer for whole night and then can't function well during the daytime.

Ways To Overcome Internet Addiction

Internet Addiction is a serious problem that needs to be resolved in time. Here's a short list of things you can do to change this problem and get away from this form of addict or disease.

Cut down unnecessary usage of internet. Set the maximum amount you can use for internet per day. Talk walks; go to eat from your office or home. Better to start a new hobby say reading a book, playing sports with friends and colleagues. Find out some offline activities that fill up your needs in useful manner. Set yourself some other goals to avoid internet usage. Do opposite way that means if you have the habit of checking the email first after awakening, try to change in opposite way and not the computer related first. Try to have group discussion with people, who are struggling with same internet addiction problems. So that you'll gradually learn strategies on get away from internet addiction disease.

Internet addiction is rather serious problem faced to many parents today. My son spent all his free time surfing the web and my husband and I decided to restrict Internet access. By my friend’s advice we bought so-called internet filtering software Ez Internet Timer.
It can stop all children’s on-line activity and block Internet browsers, e-mails, messengers according to my daily schedule.

Thank you for the hint. The Ez Internet Timer is the best one to control the Internet time on my Vista 64. One of the most favorite features is the ability to set browsing and messaging timers separately from emails. And it's user user friendly :)
